RONALD J. HARVEY is President and CEO of Harvey & Companies, Inc. a Registered Investment Advisor. Ron is a graduate of Indiana University School of Law. After engaging in the private practice of law for five years Ron joined the legal department of McCready & Keene, Inc., an actuarial firm in Indianapolis for three years. He was then hired as a legal consultant with Engler, Zoglin, Schechter and Mann in Chicago. Three years later he joined Abraham, Axelrod, Fraidstern & Moss in Ft. Lauderdale where he set up and ran their west coast office.

In 1986 Ron helped to set up and became the President of HCH Companies, Inc. which is now one of the oldest continuously owned third party administration firms in the Tampa Bay area. As such they specialize in the design and administration of qualified retirement plans, i.e., Pension Plans, Profit Sharing Plan and 401(k) plans. Several years ago Ron decided to set up the firm as a Registered Investment Advisor to serve the investment needs of his corporate plan sponsors.

Due to the success of this portion of the firm’s business Ron decided to expand the investment advisory services to include individual client portfolios. Needless to say this portion of the business has grown dramatically over the last several years. As an investment advisor representative under his independent RIA Ron espouses an investment philosophy that subscribes to the theories and economic research of some of the leading economists, some of whom have won Nobel Prizes for their work. He works with La Jolla Economics, Inc. of La Jolla, California in developing allocation strategies that utilize a passive management style. The moderate risk portfolio mirrors how monies are allocated in the global marketplace. The objective is to capture market rates of return rather than try to beat the market.

Ron is a well known speaker in the State of Florida and a coach to investors nationwide. His “Investor Education Series” of seminars have helped pre-retirees and retirees avoid some of the most common financial mistakes. Ron is married to Luisa V. Harvey and has lived in St. Petersburg, since 1980.
